Better Men Program
Think Village’s Better Men initiative is a preventative mental health program designed to build emotional resilience and enhance the emotional literacy of young boys and men. It empowers participants to grow into confident, respectful, and emotionally intelligent individuals. The program fosters positive behaviour and attitudinal change, especially among young people from diverse and marginalised communities.
At its core, Better Men creates safe, inclusive spaces where boys and young men can engage in meaningful and sometimes challenging conversations around masculinity, gender roles, stereotypes, and societal pressures. By addressing these topics early, the program helps dismantle harmful norms, increase self-awareness, and nurture healthier identities.
Delivered through dynamic and interactive workshops, Better Men works across schools, communities, and organisations to engage boys, educators, and parents. Participants gain practical tools to foster emotional intelligence, build respectful relationships, and create long-term positive change. This initiative contributes to shaping a future where boys grow into self-aware, empathetic, and empowered men.

The Ripple Effect
KNIFE CRIME PREVENTION WORKSHOP
The Ripple Effect is Think Village’s knife crime prevention initiative, offering tailored workshops for both young people and professionals. It addresses the causes and consequences of youth violence, equipping participants with the knowledge and tools to make safer choices and support others in navigating complex environments.
For young people, the workshop explores the risks of carrying knives, the ripple effects on individuals, families, and communities, and the importance of choosing safer pathways. It encourages reflection, accountability, and peer leadership in violence prevention.
For professionals, the session strengthens their capacity to identify risk factors, understand the landscape of youth violence, and apply trauma-informed approaches when working with young people. Delivered by experienced youth practitioners, The Ripple Effect is a space for critical dialogue, practical learning, and community-led action that aims to interrupt the cycle of harm and build safer futures.

African Australian Fellowship
In partnership with the Scanlon Foundation, Think Village’s African Australian Fellowship is a leadership development initiative designed to empower young African Australians to lead change in their communities. It provides emerging leaders with the skills, networks, and confidence to create lasting social impact.
The program combines leadership training, community engagement, and project-based learning, supporting participants to grow personally and professionally. Through culturally responsive mentorship and workshops, fellows deepen their understanding of self, purpose, and influence.
Participants also co-design and deliver community projects that address real-world issues and drive measurable outcomes. Rooted in cultural safety and inclusion, the African Australian Fellowship equips the next generation of African Australian changemakers to step into leadership roles with clarity, courage, and commitment to collective uplift.
